What their customers say
Quotes from people at H.O. Penn Machinery's customers.
““H.O. Penn doesn’t tell you “yeah I’ll be there tomorrow”, they are there within the hour. The project manager constantly keeping me informed on what the status of the build out of the machine was, was exceptional! It provided a level of comfort I was never use to before and I truly enjoyed it.””
““Whether it’s acquiring a new machine, obtaining service or parts, I call my rep and he takes care of whatever I need””
““Our Sales Rep Brian Carroll has been super helpful. I can just send him a text, and he gets right back to me on any question we have. We’re not just a number, and it’s really nice to have that type of working relationship you can count on.””
““Every time I call my H.O. Penn sales rep when I need something, he always finds a way to deliver it to me if the dealership doesn’t already have it, Cutler says. If they don’t have a part in stock, it’s usually next day. And that’s not the case with other brands.””
““H.O. Penn was phenomenal. We took things apart and discovered that they were rusted and realized that we needed new parts. They were right on the ball in answering our questions and providing the parts that we needed.””

““…the ability of our Cat machines to perform this precise maneuver is not matched by any other machine I’ve ever been on.””
““As a small business, everybody at H.O. Penn treats us like family.””
““I always knew that Caterpillar made premium products, and it wasn’t until I started using one that I realized the difference they could make. Time is money, and we realized that we can do more work in less time with Cat machines than what we were experiencing with our previous brand.””
““The guys at H.O. Penn know what they’re doing and what to look for. They catch stuff we would miss, and we trust them.””
““Our sales rep sets everything up, and we can even close deals with just an email and a few signatures through DocuSign. The rates are competitive, and the whole process is much simpler than dealing with a traditional bank.””
““The after-sale parts and service support is second to none; any issues are readily addressed, and the parts we need are always available. The dealership stands behind everything they do.””
““At first we were comparing it to the 310, but the 308 is more nimble and compact, which makes it perfect for septic work, plantings, and building retaining walls in tight spaces.””
““Our H.O. Penn sales rep, Bernadette ‘Bernie’ McLaren, sends me everything, and it’s a very seamless process. When it comes down to the details of buying a new machine, the process is quick and easy. Very little time is required to complete the application.””
““It was a seamless transition from Tim to Bernie as our dealer sales rep,” Kindred adds. “She’s been tremendously helpful, and she’s on top of her game. She’s always reaching out, and she’s not afraid to ask questions as we work toward solutions. And it doesn’t matter what hour of the day it is, she’ll always answer my call.””
““Their service is number one—no one else comes close,” Kindred says. “We know their technicians are highly trained. The way I see it, if you own a Ferrari, you’re not going to try and do the maintenance on your own. You’re going to let the experts handle it—it’s the smart thing to do. “The guys at H.O. Penn know what they’re doing and what to look for. They catch stuff we would miss, and we trust them.””
““Their technicians are top-notch, and they help us keep everything in perfect working order,” he adds.”
““Our sales rep, Brandon Desautels, has been a big reason why we prefer working with H.O. Penn,” Mike says. “Brandon’s service is excellent, and he’s always there when we need him.””
““We have a great work environment, and I think everybody can see how we’re growing,” Dziadul says. “Acquiring the Cat machines is a huge part of our growth. Now we have a fleet of Cat machines backed by great dealer support, and we’ve become a real player in the market.””
““And he walked me through everything,” Dziadul says. “And then he went out to the jobsite with our crew and did the same thing. He showed our guys some things that they may not have known. So that was great.””
““He ran the numbers, and financially, it was a no-brainer. Plus, now we have equity in the equipment. And the interest rate was phenomenal. The entire process was excellent. Within five weeks of Reed walking into my office for the first time, we owned four Cat machines in June.””
““Out of nowhere, Reed walked into our office just cold calling about a week later,” Dziadul continues. “So I sat down with him, and he said, ‘I’m just wondering if you might be looking to own your own machines.’ And I said, absolutely. It was perfect timing.””
““I had been trying to get in touch with somebody representing another brand of equipment,” he recalls. “And they weren’t calling back. It seemed like they didn’t want my business.””
“The bottom line is, we stand by our name. And having an equipment dealer like H.O. Penn behind us only strengthens our approach.”
“He’s very responsive, he always gets right back to us,” he says. “When I bought the skid steer, I was up in the air on which one I wanted to get—he helped us decide. I have purchased four machines from Dale, and every time around I definitely look for his opinion after I explain what we’re planning to use it for.”
“They stand by their word, and they’ve been good to me,” he says. “They’re there for us when we need them. It’s rare for us to have a problem with any of the machines, but any time we have, they’ve come out that day or the next day.”
““With the other brand, it was a matter of not having basic parts on the shelf like a pin or a bushing,” Zuhoski says. “It wasn’t a good experience. From this point forward, when we need something, it’s Cat. We won’t be going back.””
““I always like to paint the picture of ‘these are my goals,’” he says. “Whether it’s Brian Carroll or Harrison Miller, they’re always super-fast as far as getting back to me with a quote on a machine or helping with any need I might have,” he says. “I tend to be specialized as far as machine colors, and they are always good about accommodating anything I might request.””
““Cat machines are very user-friendly, and the way they’re designed enables us to do most of the maintenance ourselves,” Zuhoski adds. “Other brands have built machines in ways that essentially cause them to fail. And at that point, it’s you versus the machine.””
““I never thought I would see a heated seat in a skid steer,” he says. “When you’re sitting in a machine for six to 10 hours, you need to have comfortable people so that they want to come back the following day. Cat machines provide us with the leg room and the visibility, as well as other in-cab features that keep a smile on our employees’ faces.””
““That’s a nice feature rather than going down the row on a skid steer,” Zuhoski says. “We can go down the row with the excavator, reach over the top and drill holes for planting, whether it’s trees or setting poles. We can do that work very easily with the excavator. It’s a neat little machine with surprising power and reach for its small size.””
