How Job Seekers Opt In and Opt Out of Texts

Members are always in control of texts from Metaintro. Here is how they opt in, how they opt out, and what your team sees.

Why It Matters

Texting only works when members trust it. Metaintro makes sure nobody is texted without agreeing to it, and that anyone can stop at any time.

How Members Opt In

  • Through your team: before you start a text thread, you tick a box confirming you recorded the member's consent. Only tick it if they have actually agreed.
  • On their own: members can add their phone number in their Metaintro account and agree to receive texts about job matches and interview practice.

How Members Opt Out

A member can reply STOP to any text. Metaintro stops texting them right away. Their Text thread card shows STOPPED and the message: The member replied STOP. Only the member can restart this text thread.

What Your Team Sees

The Text thread card on each member's file shows the thread status, ACTIVE or STOPPED, so you always know whether you can text someone.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I restart texts after a member replies STOP?

No. Only the member can restart the thread. Reach them another way, like email or a call.

What if a member did not mean to opt out?

Only the member can restart the thread. Reach them by email or phone and let them know how to get texts again.

Do I need consent for every member?

Yes. Record consent before you start a text thread with anyone.
